I am Rocco from Zion Student Fellowship; it is my second year in Toronto studying at the university level. I specifically reserved the time this year to join the Moncton mission trip to spread the gospel as a Christian from an Alliance church and also to pursue my passion for interacting with youth. As a shy individual who loves to build friendships, I needed to rely on God to ease my inner worries and support my confidence with socializing, as well as initiating conversations with the youth. I am grateful to have a mission team with a unique dynamic, making me comfortable to be myself during the trip while serving and allowing me to use my unique way, such as dancing to K-pop, to get to know the youth. On this trip, I noticed more than ever that everyone has their own gifts that God has given them. While some team members can talk with talkative youth like close friends, other members may be very good at getting non-talkative youth to loosen up. Ultimately, I felt fulfilled being able to plant the seeds of God in the youth by showing kindness, care, and all the positive qualities I imitated from Christ. It is a blessed opportunity for me to not only spread God’s love to people who believe in Christ in my church and fellowship but also to those who are relatively new to Christianity, young, and have not personally experienced the lows and highs of Christian life.
