This year marks my second time joining the short-term mission trip to the Atlantic Chinese Christian Summer Conference. I had the privilege of serving in the youth ministry; I helped prepare and plan a series of activities centered around our theme — love language. It was indeed a rewarding experience to teach them about unique ways to express/receive love, help them learn more about themselves, and teach them about God’s boundless love.
I’m deeply grateful for having such a wonderful, loving team of helpers this year. Everyone’s willingness and heartfelt dedication to serve was very inspiring. You could tell how much they loved and cared about the kids by their constant smiles and how they interacted with them with kindness and patience. Everyone did their best to help the kids engage as much as possible, even if it meant translating all English instructions to Chinese for those who don’t speak English, participating in K-pop dances with them, or simply creating a more inviting environment for the quieter children.
While the kids may not remember every Bible verse or gospel message we teach them, I firmly believe they will carry the love they experienced with us throughout their journey of faith. Our actions demonstrated what God’s love is like as we showed them our love. In return, we experienced God’s love and grace through these pure, kind children with big smiles and our members’ devoted serving. It was indeed a beautiful picture to see, a testament to the power of love and faith. Thank you God!
